Eliminate the big slice

Eliminate the big slice

Most of your slices happen when one of these two things occur:

[icon_list] [icon_list_item style=”color: #1270C8;” type=”play-circle”] You keep the club face open at impact or you swing the club on a path that travels from outside the target line to inside it. ( in other words you cut across the ball, just as tennis players do when they hit a cut shot). [/icon_list_item] [/icon_list]

The easiest of these two faults to fix is your club head position. Since most slicers lose the extension in their forward arm and create the called “chicken wing.”

Make sure that your forearms touch each other in the follow through. By doing this your closing the club face through impact and minimizes the side spin on the ball.

Once you have exaggerated your release for a few times your arms should be ready to release in the right way, not quite touching the forearms but certainly not in a chicken wing position.
